Main library
Located in the heart of downtown Monticello, our library offers a cozy, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere to read, work, visit with friends and family, and attend cultural and civic events. We have a broad selection of books, ranging from the latest bestsellers to classic literature and popular nonfiction. We also have a variety of other media available, including audiobooks, DVDs, and digital downloads. If we don't have what you're looking for, we're happy to help you find it through interlibrary loan.
We offer computer access and free Wi-Fi, making it easy to stay connected to the world around you. We regularly host programs and events for all ages, from storytimes for kids to book clubs and author talks for adults. As one of North Florida's outstanding rural public libraries--part of the Wilderness Coast Public Libraries Cooperative (WILD)-- we also offer a wide range of government and community services, special programs, community partnerships, and innovative projects, including:
- Social services days
- Health events in partnership with the Jefferson County Health Department
- Geneological research
- STEM and science activities
At our library, you'll find a dedicated team of library staff who are passionate about books, reading, technology and the local community. Whether you need help choosing a book, finding information on a topic, or learning how to use our digital resources, we're here to assist you. Whether you're a frequent visitor or a first-time patron, we invite you to come in and explore all that our library has to offer.
